2. Bipolar disorder(manic-depression)
●This type of depression affects the mood. It is mood disorder that means the symptoms are abnormalities of mood. It involves incidents of both serious mania and depression.
●Bipolar disorder can have destructive impact on those affected and if not treated can lead to suicide.

1. Prolonged sadness or low mood level.
2. Anger, anxiety, worry, irritability and agitation.
3. Unexplained crying spells.
4. Loss of energy.
5. Significant and abrupt changes in sleep patterns.

1. Reactive Depression
Depression is as a result from psychological stress, mental straining or physical struggle with no proper rest or sleep for along period of time. As a result of strainging, the nervous system will simply wear out or exhaust the organism from nutrient obligatory for the nervous system to function properly.
2. Postnatal Depression
After pregnancy and giving birth, women frequently have a period of depression. Pregnancy and child bearing is physically and mentally exhausting, and may drain the body for nutrient. As a result it may cause depressive symptoms.
3. Depression By Physical Disease
This might be the most common cause of depression. There are generally three classifications of diseases that cause depression.
Diseases frequently associated with depression are:
a) Heart disease
b) Hypertension
c) Stroke
d) Parkinson disease.
4. Depressive symptoms as a result of unsound lifestyle
Living unhealthy lifestyle with less or no exercise, excess intake of stimulants e.g alcohol, coffee or tea. Less of important nutrient and too much sugar and fat may result into depressive symptoms and physical problems.
5. Seasonal affective disorder
Depression can develop during winter that is in cold and dark season and vanish during summer season. Light helps in stimulating the brain activity, and cold is causative factor.
